Requirements:
Applications should be ABR-Certified or eligible and must be licensed in Texas prior to beginning the Fellowship.

Conferences:
The fellow is expected to participate in clinico-pathological and radiological conferences, including a multi-disciplinary weekly thoracic malignancy conference, a weekly pulmonary fellow conference, combined medical-surgical thoracic conference, and diagnostic radiology resident as well as medical student conferences. The fellow is also expected to prepare two formal didactic talks per year.

Research:
The fellow is expected to prepare a "presentable" and "publishable" quality research project during their academic year, under staff supervision. The fellow is also encouraged to generate their own research project and present one or more scientific presentations at a major national meeting.

Benefits:
The fellow is assigned to the Cardiology service as an active participant one day per week. One academic day per week will also be allotted for the purpose of research and education. Fellows are appointed as PGY-6 house staff officers at Parkland Memorial Health and Hospital Systems. They are eligible for all Parkland House staff benefits including medical and dental insurance and 15 days of personal leave per year. Current total combined salary for the fellowship year is $40,000.00. A book stipend is also available.
