Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship
University of Wisconsin at Madison
The UW-Madison Chest and MRI sections are pleased to offer a comprehensive
chest imaging fellowship. Upon completion, the fellow will have
extensive experience in chest CT, HRCT, CTA, cCTA, Cardiac MRI/MRA
and Chest MRI interpretation. UW has active thoracic oncology and
transplant programs ensuring the full spectrum of neoplastic and
infectious pathologies. Strong Pulmonary Medicine and Thoracic
Surgery programs generate opportunities to learn image-guided thoracic
intervention and ablation techniques.
The opportunity to participate
in translational research is a vital component of the Chest Imaging
and MRI fellowship at UW-Madison and is facilitated by our close
working relationship with the Department of Medical Physics.
Fellows receive 1 day per week dedicated academic time and a business
allowance. Faculty mentors are readily available to facilitate
scientific publication.

Duke Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship
Duke University Medical Center
The Division of Cardiovascular Imaging at
Duke University Medical Center seeks applicants for a new clinical
fellowship to begin July 1, 2013. The division operates a clinical
practice covering a broad range of cardiovascular pathology including
both congential and acquired disease for busy cardiac and vascular
medical and surgical services. Scanning is performed on 64 MDCT
and dual source 128 and 256 MDCT scanners and 1.5 and 3T MRI
systems. Engagement in research and medical student and resident
teaching is part of the fellowship program. Candidates must be
board eligible, have completed a residency training program and
be eligible for licensure in the state of North Carolina. Durham
provides an enviable climate and lifestyle. Duke University is
an equal opportunity/affirmative action employed. Interested

Thoracic Imaging Fellowship
Imaging Institute at the Cleveland Clinic
The Imaging Institute at the Cleveland Clinic
has an unexpected opening for a 12-month Thoracic Imaging Fellowship
starting July 1st,2012. The Section of Thoracic Imaging is a full-service
hospital based academic practice comprised of eight dedicated Thoracic
Imagers. The Imaging Institute has state-of-the-art-imaging (including
CR, DR, CT, MRI, and PET/CT imaging) in a complete PACS environment
and performs > 1.5M exams/year (including approximately 150,000
chest radiographs, 150-200 interventional procedures and 20,000
CTs
annually).
Thoracic interventional training includes
fluoroscopically or CT guided procedures of pulmonary, mediastinal,
chest wall and pleural lesions. The Fellowship includes dedicated
elective time in Cardiac Imaging, with elective time tailored
to an applicant’s
level of interest. We have outstanding faculty, supported by world-class
programs in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Lung Transplantation,
Thoracic Surgery, Thoracic Oncology, and the related Basic Sciences
(Pathology). In addition to didactic training, fellowship participants
are expected to fulfill research and teaching opportunities.

CARDIOTHORACIC IMAGING FELLOWSHIP
University
of South Florida
Program
Director: Krishna Nallamshetty, MD
Currently
accepting applications for July 1, 2012 and 2013
The University of South Florida Department of
Radiology offers a 1-year Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship. We
accept 1 fellow per year. We are currently accepting
applications for July 1, 2012 and 2013.
The Cardiopulmonary Imaging fellowship focuses on establishing
clinical expertise in advanced cardiovascular and pulmonary imaging.
To achieve this objective, the program provides fellows with exposure
to cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR), cardiac computed tomography
angiography (CTA), nuclear cardiology (SPECT and PET), and pulmonary
imaging.
During this 1-year fellowship program, the fellow will learn how
to acquire and to interpret computed tomography, magnetic resonance,
and nuclear imaging examinations of the heart and chest. The fellow
will learn the appropriateness criteria for each cardiac imaging
modality and serve as an advisor to referring clinicians on appropriate
imaging modalities based on patient pathology. The fellow will
formulate appropriate differential diagnoses and management recommendations
for various thoracic pathologies, with emphasis on the heart, coronary
arteries, lungs, mediastinum, pleura, and chest wall. Fellows will
obtain the highest level of certification in cardiac CT and MRI
based on the American College of Radiology and Cardiology COCATS
training guidelines.
Participation in interventional procedures such as transthoracic
needle biopsy and percutaneous catheter drainage of intrathoracic
fluid collections is expected. Fellows will participate in interdepartmental
conferences including cardiac transplant, heart failure, pulmonary,
and pulmonary transplant. These conferences enhance knowledge of
the various clinical problems faced by clinicians, and form a basis
for helping to guide imaging workup of such problems. The fellow
will also have an active role in radiology resident education.
Applicants must be ABR board-certified or eligible. The following
items are required for a completed application:
